Mido Cafe 美都餐室 was built back in the 1950s and has been operating ever since. Mido Cafe is one of the oldest Hong Kong cafes (cha chaan teng) left in Hong Kong.

The news on Tim Ho Wan Malaysia shutting down came as a shock to me. Who would have thought that this brand that has earned a Michelin star in Hong Kong would come to an end in Malaysia after 3 years? I always think that Malaysia is a food haven, we have all the nice food and popular food chains here. Seems like I took it for granted.
When Tim Ho Wan first opened in Malaysia, the queues were insanely long every single day. I had the opportunity to sample their food first hand as their invited blogger.
Recently, I was very delighted to be able to finally try the food at the highly raved Japa-Thai restaurant, Ploy. Ploy, means “gem” in Thai language. It is a gastronomical study in Japa-Thai cuisine, culminating from years of travel and gluttony journey. This resulted in a menu built from scratch with over 60 offerings, influences that span 4 continents and over 35 original creation sauces.
They’re deeply inspired by the interplay of sweet, sour, spicy and umami flavours in true gem Japanese and Thai cuisine. Chef Daniel Yong prepared meticulously and uses only the freshest ingredients to ensure a dazzling dining experience.
