2 Days in Singapore Itinerary (Day 1)
Gardens by the Bay
Located at Marina Bay, Gardens by the Bay is a way to visit nature without having to leave the city. You can easily spend an entire day wandering through this amazing urban jungle but since you are only in Singapore for the weekend, limit your time.
Visit the Supertree Grove with 18 super-trees that are the supports of the OCBC Skyway. This skyway is an aerial walkway that is 419 feet in length and gives you amazing views of the surrounding park, gardens, and Marina Bay.
If you have time, visit the Cloud Forest which features the tallest indoor waterfall in the world and is viewable from the Tree Top Walk or Cloud Walk. You may also enjoy the Flower Dome, the world’s largest greenhouse where plants are grouped by country.
Cloud Forest
Located in Gardens by the Bay, Cloud Forest is home to the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. The waterfall is about 98 feet tall and cascades down the man-made mountain. The forest itself is inside a climate-controlled dome that mimics the tropics.
The fog created from the waterfall and the vapor jets that help create the tropical climate creates a misty cloud that helped name this attraction. For the best view of the mountain and waterfall, climb up to the Cloud Walk or the Tree Top Walk and look down.
Singapore Botanic Gardens
The Singapore Botanic Gardens occupy 60 acres of a formerly abandoned plantation that is in the heart of the city and helped give Singapore its rather fitting nickname, City in the Garden. Admission to the gardens is free and is a must-see when visiting.
These gardens have brought people from around the world to see the natural beauty of the plants as well as the extensive botanical library. Visit the National Orchid Garden and take in the breathtaking color and a mindboggling number of varieties of orchid.
When you are visiting the gardens bring plenty of water so you can stay hydrated in the heat since average temperatures are in the 80s. Grab a map when you first enter and hit the highlights since you are on a time crunch, or you could spend hours exploring.
Marina Bay Sands
The biggest tourist draw of Singapore is Marina Bay Sands, where many of the more popular landmarks and attractions are located. Since this is only a weekend trip to Singapore, you may want to take a few hours to explore this attraction-packed neighborhood.
The ArtScience Museum is located here, as is The Float @ Marina Bay, the largest floating stadium in the world. Gardens by the Bay and Merion Park adjoin Marina Bay and you can even see the Singapore Flyer, Asia’s biggest observation wheel.
2 Days in Singapore Itinerary (Day 2)
Sentosa
This island resort is perfect for people of all ages and is home to Universal Studios Singapore. Plan to spend a bit of time at Sentosa to check out many of the major places that will grab your interest or maybe just lounge on the beach for an hour or two.
Home to S.E.A. Aquarium, Adventure Cove Waterpark, Mega Adventure, The Flying Trapeze, and iFly Singapore, there is definitely something for everyone here. Head to Palawan Beach for some relaxation, it is the southernmost place of Continental Asia.
Singapore’s Chinatown
Singapore is a nation of immigrants who have brought their customs and traditions with them. Chinatown in Singapore is one of the biggest ethnic regions in the city and is five districts all rolled into one vibrant neighborhood dedicated to the Chinese culture.
Overflowing with restaurants, shops, food stalls, art, and sculptures, Chinatown is a place like no other in Singapore. It may remind you of the Chinatowns you have seen in other places but it is truly a unique experience.
Visit Pagoda Street where vendors are selling trinkets of all shapes and sizes. If you are craving barbecue, head over to New Bridge Road, or check out the buzzing nightlife in the Tanjong Pagar district. Visit an ancient temple or mosque in the Telok district.
Singapore Cable Car
The Singapore Cable Car Sky Network runs two different lines that give visitors a whole new perspective of the city. There are six different stations where you can get on or off the cable car, depending on where you would like to visit.
While the cable cars are really not all that convenient as a mode of transportation, the views make it well worth it. Bring your camera along and snap photos of the neighborhoods as you fly overhead.
Purchase a one-day unlimited pass so you can hop on and off throughout the day and get to see more of Singapore.
Asian Civilizations Museum
A great way to learn more about Singapore and the Asian continent is to visit the Asian Civilizations Museum where you will be immersed in culture and history. You will stroll through exhibitions and galleries filled with over 1,300 artifacts.
Wander through West Asia, China, and Southeast Asia and discover the different Pan-Asian civilizations that once dominated the area. View religious sculptures, jewels, furniture, tapestries, and other fascinating relics.
