Ever since December 2020, I have been relying on my FOREO UFO to substitute facial sessions at the beauty salon. As much as I try to avoid going to the beauty salon, my skin will suffer if I just leave it as it is. FOREO UFO Mini 2 Review

Just like UFO 2, UFO Mini 2 also comes in 3 color selections: Fuchsia, Mint, and Pearl Pink. For this one, I decided to choose another color that I also love – Mint. It’s such a relaxing color to look at! Size wise, it looks smaller than UFO 2 but it’s actually just an optical illusion because the gold detail part is smaller than UFO 2.

It comes in a clear acrylic plastic casing and the body of UFO Mini 2 is made with medical-grade silicone to ensure it’s 100% waterproof and doesn’t absorb dirt.

FOREO UFO 2 vs FOREO UFO Mini 2

As you can see from the table above, the main difference between UFO 2 and UFO Mini 2 is the lack of Cryo-Therapy function in UFO Mini 2.

Cryo-Therapy is a cooling treatment that helps to calm, firm the skin, shrink the appearance of pores and reduces puffiness instantly. So if you opt for FOREO UFO Mini 2, you’ll have to forgo these benefits. I’d say this treatment is pretty essential especially if you have oily skin with enlarged pores.

Another main difference is, you can customize your own supercharged treatment by changing the duration, LED light color, temperature and the intensity of T-Sonic pulsation via the Smart Control setting in Foreo app.

How to use FOREO UFO 2 and UFO Mini 2

These devices are high tech, but the usage is pretty simple. Thank God for that!

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use the UFO 2 and the mask using the new FOREO app:

• Download the FOREO app (FOREO For You) from Google Play Store or Apple App Store
• Press the universal power button to turn the UFO 2 on
• Connect your phone with your UFO 2 device via Bluetooth
• Remove the attachment ring from your UFO 2

  

• Choose a UFO Power Activated Mask which is suitable for your current needs
• Take out the UFO Power Activated Mask from the sachet and place it on the UFO 2
• Clip the attachment ring back in place (with FOREO logo facing up) to secure the mask
• Tap on treatment, select the chosen mask, press “Start Treatment” and follow the instructions
• If you want, you can repeat the treatment again

The steps to operate UFO Mini 2 is the same as UFO 2, so you can just refer the same guide 🙂

Can you use FOREO UFO 2 and FOREO UFO Mini 2 without the app?

When you first get your UFO, it comes with Make My Day and Call It A Night pre-programmed on the device. One short press to activate the Make My Day Treatment or two short presses to activate the Call It a Night Treatment. These 2 programmes can be used with any smart mask. If you want to get mask-specific features, you will need to download the FOREO app to store the programme into your device. You can use it without the app next time. You just need to make three short presses and so on and so forth according to the sequence of the mask programmes you have downloaded. In short, YES, you can use FOREO UFO without the app!
