Hilton Garden Inn Puchong Staycation Experience

As Malaysia is moving into RMCO (Recovery Movement Control Order), hotels can finally reopen! I think this is the best chance to explore our beloved country because who knows, you might find some hidden gems not far away from you.

So we packed our bags and traveled 30km from my house in Kepong to Hilton Garden Inn Puchong, 4-star hotel in Puchong for a 2D1N staycation. This staycation was planned at just the right time cos I needed a change of environment in order to get fresh ideas coming in! Locating Hilton Garden Inn Puchong was a breeze with Waze as I was directed straight to the parking area. What a blessing to find that there’s free parking available!

After doing the necessary SOP for contact tracing, temperature check and sanitized our hands, we proceeded to the lobby at level 6 to check-in. Kudos for the smooth check-in process. FYI, the check-in time is 3 pm and check-out time is 12 pm. I was honored to be able to meet Mr. Kumar Muniandy, the General Manager of Hilton Garden Inn Puchong and Mr. Bernard Loo, the Commercial Manager of Hilton Garden Inn Puchong. They were both very helpful in guiding me around Puchong and suggesting me places to go in Puchong area.

King Deluxe Room Lake View

Let’s move on to our room – 388 sq.ft. King Deluxe Room Lake View located on the 19th floor. Before we opened the door, we noticed a sticker on the door. This Hilton CleanStay Room Seal is a part of Hilton CleanStay program which indicates to guests that the room has not been accessed since being thoroughly sanitized. In collaboration with RB, maker of Lysol and Dettol, and advise from Mayo Clinic, all Hilton hotels now include new procedures to help guests enjoy a cleaner and safer stay for peace of mind.

This room type is just perfect for a staycation! Let me list out all the reasons why and you’ll understand:

• The room was spacious and hence, you won’t feel suffocated staying in
• The comfy bed and fluffy pillows were such a blessing to relax on!
• The lake view was amazing from their floor to ceiling windows. Look out when you need some calming vibes to clear your mind.

• Equipped with a 55-inch HDTV, I can mirror my K-drama from phone and watch from the bed

  

• Don’t need to worry about finishing my mobile data because there’s free Wi-Fi!
• This room is also complete with a bathtub, mini fridge, in-room safe, electric kettle, coffee and tea, adjustable air-conditioning, toiletries, hair dryer, and an iron/ironing board to make you feel at home

  

 

Garden Grille Restaurant

After squeezing some brain juice for work, I started to feel hungry. Time for dinner! We headed down to their on-site restaurant, Garden Grille at level 6 to relieve our hunger. Enjoying a hearty feast of local and international flavors overlooking the stunning city view of Puchong is pure bliss.

 

We had some fresh orange juice and wild mushroom soup while waiting for our food. I love their food – they were prepared fresh upon order and the portion was really huge! Tried the Fish & Chips and Spaghetti Carbonara, both tastes good and we even get a yummy slice of cheesecake each as dessert. Staying guests can enjoy up to 30% off all food and beverage.

 

 

Following a good night’s sleep, I woke up refreshed and headed back to Garden Grille for breakfast. Due to safety measures during COVID-19 pandemic, buffet spread will be unavailable. However, we were served with a lot of food, it feels as if I had buffet for breakfast haha! Started my breakfast right with a mini croissant, cupcake, apple and orange juice. This was followed by Omelette American Breakfast and coffee!

 

If you don’t like to be confined in the room all the time, do consider doing some activities within the hotel area like taking a dip in the swimming pool or workout in the gym.
