Are you suffering from tooth sensitivity? A lot of people don’t realize they have tooth sensitivity until they ate something that triggered it. The Southeast Asia & Taiwan (SEAT) Quantitative Research conducted by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Consumer Healthcare Malaysia has found that at least 7 out of 10 Malaysians are suffering from tooth sensitivity.
Tooth sensitivity is a common problem that can develop over time when the dentine inside the tooth becomes exposed due to receding gums or enamel wear.
The exposed dentine can be easily triggered by eating hot and cold foods and drinks, eating sugary or sour foods and even brushing your teeth, among other things. The discomfort caused by tooth sensitivity is usually described as a short, sharp sensation in or around a tooth.
Among the factors that cause receding gums are gum disease, brushing too hard, whereas tooth grinding or overly frequent tooth brushing will cause enamel wear.
Sensodyne Repair and Protect Deep Repair Toothpaste
I have just attended the virtual launch of Sensodyne #ReclaimLifeSmallPleasures Campaign last Thursday. What a great news to discover that Sensodyne has a new formula for its Sensodyne Repair and Protect Deep Repair toothpaste, now with NovaMin® technology.
“We understand that the discomfort caused by tooth sensitivity can hold us back from enjoying our life’s small pleasures. As the nation approached a post-pandemic return to normalcy, the #ReclaimLifeSmallPleasures Campaign aims to inspire Malaysians to take control of their oral care and enjoy the little moments they have – be it everyday food exploration, experimentation and experience – without worrying about tooth sensitivity. After all, life is too short for tooth sensitivity,” said Bryan Wong, General Manager of GSK Consumer Healthcare Malaysia at the Sensodyne #ReclaimLifeSmallPleasures Campaign virtual launch.
According to Dr. Norul Husna, only a dentist can confirm you have tooth sensitivity and other dental problems. So, make sure you visit a dentist if you’re experiencing any discomfort and make sure you get a regular dental check-up every 6 months.
Seeing Sean Lee’s experience on tooth sensitivity reminded me of myself and I’m so glad he has regained his life’s small pleasures. As shared by Sean, food and drinks are what unites us, Malaysians. I find that so on-point!
