At the end of the hour-long challenge, 10 finalists took home a grand prize of RM50,000 each. Each RM50,000 package comes with interior renovations for the living room, kitchen and master bedroom, as well as electrical appliances from Kuvings.
Held in conjunction with Guardian Malaysia’s 50th anniversary celebrations, they received 1 million entries for the Guardian Win a Home Makeover contest. Only 50 of them were selected. The contest was jointly organized with Petron Malaysia.
Marketing director of Guardian Health and Beauty Sdn Bhd, Ms. Christina Low, said: “We wanted to offer a prize that was meaningful to reward our customers for their support and loyalty over the last 50 years. We viewed a home makeover as big-ticket prize, that enabled us to be a part of our customers key life moments, to contribute to making their family home environment more comfortable.”
Together with Petron, they made it very easy for shoppers to participate. Customers just need to purchase a minimum of RM10 from any Guardian store or Guardian E-store to qualify them for one entry. Likewise, P Miles members who pump a minimum of RM10 petrol fuel in a single receipt are also qualified for one entry.
Petron Head of Retail Business, Puan Faridah Ali expressed that she was glad their partnership with Guardian offers Malaysians a chance to redecorate and refurbish their homes. Through Petron Miles program, they are able to give Guardian and Petron customers more savings, more rewards, and ultimately a ‘Fuel Happy’ experience.
The other 40 finalists who didn’t manage to win the grand prize took home attractive prizes. 10 won the first prize of 1 year of free petrol from Petron worth RM4,000 each, another 10 won the second prize of Guardian vouchers worth RM2,000 each and 20 others won Petron Miles point worth RM1,000 each.
