Power in My Pocket

Power in Your Pocket is definitely not an easy theme for me to write about.
Why?
Because my pocket is empty 80% of the time!

10% of the time, my hands are in my pocket. Powerful huh? LOL!

Nah! Give you a powerful punch!
Nah! Give you a powerful punch!

Another 10% of the time, I have my car and house key in my pocket! Worth a lot right? I supposed it could be considered as powerful, no? Oh wait. The car and house isn't mine. Oh well... =(

Do you like my sexy Betty Boop keychain? :p

I know a lot of people put all sorts of things in their pocket like wallet and phone but I can't! And here's my explanation...

So here's my purse. I don't have a deep enough pocket for such a long purse! But hey, it's thick. Meaning my spending power is high?

Eh.....no. My receipts are thicker than the cash I have.... LOL!
Cash VS. Receipts

As for phone, my HTC Desire HD with 4.3" touch screen won't fit either... =(

The next one has got to be my most powerful property ever. What is it? I'm sure all of you know.
It's my DSLR! But as if it's not bulky enough, a recent addition of a flashgun has just made it even bulkier. Can you imagine how inconvenient it is for a girl like me to carry so many heavy things around? Oh God!

Sometimes, there are events that I don't wish to bring my DSLR along (like clubbing) but I have no choice because my phone couldn't snap a decent photo in low light and my ancient Sony digital camera isn't working properly anymore. Can you guess how old my Sony digital camera is? It's been a decade. Yes, that's 10 years! I wouldn't dispose it off because it has accompanied me for so long =(

But recently, I was exposed to Sony's new camera: Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-RX100. At first glance, I thought it was just a normal compact digital camera like my ancient one. But when I get to hands on and try it out for myself, I was literally dumbfounded. IT.WAS.AWESOME. Although the size is compact, but the performance is highly competitive compared with the DSLRs in market today.

The key to why it's so impressive is that it has a 20MP 1" sensor, a 1.2 million dot 3.0" LCD that uses Sony WhiteMagic technology to improve battery life and greater brightness and a Carl Zeiss 28-100mm equivalent F1.8-4.9 lens for a start. Besides that, it also has the capability for 1080p60 and 1080i video capture. The coolest thing is, you are able to shoot 17MP stills while recording a video! I'm not going to touch so many technical stuff here since I'm not a so technical person (that explains why this camera is perfect for me). If you wanna try the awesomeness, head on to your nearest Sony Centre.

Here are some photos I took using purely auto mode. Note that the environment was pretty dark but the camera intelligently brightens the photo up, blurs the background and the bokeh effects are amazing, I fell in love right away with this camera! Most importantly, the compact size makes it pocketable so I can bring it anywhere I go! I really really hope to get this camera so that I can finally have "Power in My Pocket".

From this experience, I've learned a thing. You've all heard of the English idiom "Don't judge a book by its cover" but I came up with a new idiom:
"Don't judge a camera by its size".

Product Review: Sampar Glamour Shot Yeux

Glamour Shot Eyes
Multi-action glamour revealer

Sampar Glamour Shot Yeux (which translates to Glamour Shot Eyes in English) is one of the best selling products in Europe. Originated from Paris, this product promises to deliver result within just 1 minute of application. Yes, you heard me right. Is 1 minute. The packaging of the full size product looks exactly like a lipgloss, including the applicator inside.

Since it sounded so magical, I was really interested to try it out so I got a sample for it.

Sampar Glamour Shot Eyes Sample
After application, I dabbed the whitish gel on my eyes using the applicator provided and almost instantly, I can see that my under eyes became smooth and the color of the dark circle has reduced! That's impressive! As I seldom have puffy eyes, I don't feel much difference on reduced puffiness.

With Sampar Glamour Shot Eyes, you do not need concealer anymore because this is the concealer already. It's a transparent under-eye concealer. If you're wondering whether this is a skincare product or makeup product, the answer is: BOTH. It is a cross between makeup and skincare because it not only conceals your dark circles, blur fine lines and brighten dark areas of the eyes but this product also contain hyaluronic acid that offers a long-term and lasting anti-wrinkles action.

I'm going to try it for a longer time and see how the results are! Stay tuned!

Sampar Glamour Shot Eyes is priced at RM 126 for 10ml and are available at Parkson Sunway Pyramid and Sampar Malaysia's website.

Movie: Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D

Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D is a 3D documentary concert film that tells the story of Katy Perry's struggle from a gospel singer to a superstar and her bitter relationship road from single to married and finally divorced.

During the beginning of this movie, they intro-ed the key people in her life; those who transformed her to what she is today. I wasn't really interested in this part but I guess I have no choice since this is a part of her.

What interests me is the concert, where 3D effects can be clearly seen. 3D bubbles, foam, entertaining magic shows in her concert and her interesting attires are the parts I really enjoy. Not to mention, her funny grandma too!

Check her grandma out!

I'd say that her image is really positive. She teaches everyone to get real and be themselves. Don't be afraid to express yourself! I actually feel like crying while watching this movie, thinking of my dream that has been suppressed =(

LOL at the name of this burger: Lam Lee! Ramly burger is well known for their tastiness so how does Lam Lee burger score? I'd say it's up to standard with their juicy meat and yummy egg! It comes with a bowl of french fries too.

Japanese Gel Nail and Manicure @ Shige Hair Salon

I'm having insomnia now. Couldn't sleep so I'm going to share my experience of getting Japanese gel manicure at Shige Hair Salon, Plaza Damas.

Upon arriving there, I was greeted in Japanese. It never occurred to me that the place is owned by Japanese since a lot of places in KL have Japanese name but owned by local. I was taken to the upper floor into a small, cozy well decorated room. And this is where I met my nailist, Biju san. She's a beautiful young Korean girl who speaks fluent Japanese and basic English so there's not much problem communicating with her.

Pretty right?

As it's my first time doing gel nails, it was a bit complicated knowing that I can customize so many things. Basically, I need to choose the color, the jewels and design that I want. For the design, I chose to let Biju san decide since she's the expert here.

Halfway through the process, the Japanese owner, Akiyo san arrived and stayed with me until I left. That was so sweet of her! I felt like a VIP! According to her, all nail products were flown in from Japan because as an avid nail art fan herself, she tried other brands and felt that the quality in Japan is way better. Besides the product, skill of the nailist is also very important to ensure that the gel nail done can last longer. I have no worries about that since Biju san has 4 years experience in this field.

My Japanese Gel Nails are ready!

According to Akiyo san, the gel manicure can last for around 3-6 months if done properly. Many people might complain that Japanese gel manicure is more expensive than basic nail polish manicure but if you're good in Maths, you'll realize that the average cost per month is almost the same as basic manicure. Really worth it! What's great about Japanese nail gel is you don't need to wait for it to dry! They just use UV light for a few minutes and it's all ready!

Tadah!! What you think?
