Spider-Man 3D Floor Graphic

While I was in Penang for a holiday during end of June, I spotted this 3D floor graphic of Spiderman at the main entrance of Gurney Plaza. It was done by the students and lecturers of The One Academy, Penang. Too bad that it will only there for 2 weeks. After 5th June, it's gone. I think they should retain it as it certainly will bring more tourists to Gurney Plaza!

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 Media Preview @ Ecoba Restaurant & Bar

On 26th July 2012, I was invited to Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 media preview as a blogger. When I heard that it's a compact camera, I thought it would be those normal old boring type of camera.

Upon hands on, I was kinda shocked to see the amazing outcome. I especially love the bokeh effects in the photos that I took effortlessly as the lens features seven-bladed circular aperture. During the whole hands on process, I only used Auto mode. As I'm not an avid photographer, I prefer less technical settings as possible to achieve good results.

This pocketable Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 will be in the stores early August 2012 with the retail price of RM 2,499.

Here are some of the photos I took using Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100:

Oiso Korean Traditional Cuisine & Café @ The Sphere Bangsar South

With all the hype about K-drama and K-pop, let's not forget K-food too!! oK? Alright I know it's lame but let me introduce you to this K-restaurant called Oiso.

Oiso means "Welcome" in Korean dialect. This café is located at The Sphere Bangsar South and owned by a Korean. Aiming to provide good traditional food with warm hospitality to their guests, they uphold the spirit: "The Best Recipe Comes From Our Heart".

Various snacks
Oiso served us 5 different snacks as starters: Fried anchovies, egg rolls, spinach, lotus roots and kimchi.

Kochi Pancake
Price: RM 10.90
Kochi Pancake was the first main dish of the night. It's thin and crispy, tastes slightly salty I feel like eating snack. Pancake is one of the famous food in Korea. If you order more than two main dishes during dinner, Oiso is generous enough to serve it for free!

Japchae (잡채)
Price: RM 10.90 (lunch) / RM 13.90 (dinner)
This dish that looks like glass noodle is not made of glass noodle! Upon tasting it, it is actually made from sweet potato noodles stir fried with thin slices of chilli, carrot, onion, mushroom and garnished with sesame seeds. Love it!

Bulgogi (불고기)
Price: RM 15.90 (lunch) / RM 18.90 (dinner)
Their Bulgogi's beef was marinated just nice and barbecued on a hot plate. A bite on the beef and it tastes very juicy and tender. The beef and vegetables have absorbed the essence of the sauce in hot plate!

Pajeon
Price: RM 10.90
Pajeon is a variety of jeon (pancake-like dish) and it is not made from a dough. As Pa means green/spring onion in Korean, this dish is made from batter of eggs, rice flour, wheat flour and green/spring onions. The sauce that accompanied Pajeon further enhances its taste.

Seafood Steamboat
Price: RM 39.90
If you're a seafood lover, here's a seafood galore for you! With over 15 vegetables and fresh seafood including octopus, squid, crab, shell, mussel and prawn, you're gonna be spoilt with choice. Be sure to drink up the sweet and flavorful soup boiled from the seafood and vegetables! Seafood steamboat is definitely the highlight of the night!

Stir Octopus
Price: RM 29.90

Grilled Blue Mackerel
Price: RM 14.90 (lunch) / RM 17.90 (dinner)
Until this point, I was already quite full but it won't stop me from checking out more delicious food. That's when Grilled Blue Mackerel came in, the skin is golden brown and barbecued to perfection. Oh yums!!

Egg Roll Cake
Price: RM 10.90
After some heavy meal, here's a lighter selection. The egg roll cake has a soft texture while the grated carrots and spring onion gives me something to chew on. There's also crab meat inside that gives the egg a rich taste. A perfect combination indeed!

Spicy Rice Cake
Price: RM 10.90

Seaweed soup

Homemade Korean Rice Nectar (RM 4.90) &
Jeju Island Tangerine Juice (RM 5.90)

Aloe Vera Juice (very refreshing!)

How to Treat Dry & Dehydrated Skin

Dry & dehydrated skin is very common these days because we always dwell in air conditioned rooms! Even if you have oily skin, it might be dehydrated on the lower layer of your skin too. Here are 6 tips that I came out with on how to treat dry & dehydrated skin. I hope you'll find it useful =)

  1. Moisturize, moisturize and moisturize
If your face feels tight after washing, you're having dry skin. Moisturizing is one of the essential steps in taking care of your skin so having a good moisturizer is very crucial. Your moisturizer should also be suitable to your skin type. Pair it with a good toner like Cellnique's Soothing & Hydrating Lotion to prepare your skin for better absorption.
    Toner & Moisturizer

  2. Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day
To keep skin well hydrated, be sure to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day to keep skin well hydrated, improves blood circulation and removes toxin from inside. When your skin lacks water, it will be come dry and peeling.

  3. Avoid smoking, caffeine and alcohol
Caffeine, alcohol and cigarette can bring negative effect on the skin. It's better to avoid or lower the consumption if possible. Smoke can trigger oxidation allowing oxygen based free-radicals to attack your skin cells.

  4. Consume more vegetable and fruits
You are what you eat. The food you eat can directly reflect on your skin. Food containing high omega-3 fatty acids like salmon and trout can provide natural moisture for your skin from within. Besides, Vitamin A is also essential in repairing skin damage. Example of food that contains Vitamin A are carrots, pumpkin and sweet potato.

  5. Apply moisturizing mask regularly
If you have time to spare, you can DIY your own moisturizing mask. Honey is a very good moisturizing natural ingredient while aloe vera can help to soothe and calm dry skin. If you're a busy bee, just grab some masks from the nearest Cres Wellness!

  6. Leave it to the experts!
I normally just leave it to the experts to help me with hydrating my skin because I can relax during facial treatment at Cres Wellness. Their Time-release AquaCell Yoga Visage is the solution to dry and dehydrated skin. The Yoga lymphatic drainage is a revolutionary facial treatment that stimulates the effective absorption of the rich moisture infused. The osmotic regulating features and reinforced hydrolipidic layer provide a time-release mechanism for continuous moisturizing that last for days. Come out with a replenished, balanced and moisturized skin after the treatment!
