Food Review: Yamagoya Ramen @ Publika, Solaris Dutamas

If you're a big fan of kyushu (Japan) ramen, you would have probably heard of Yamagoya Ramen. The first branch in Malaysia has been opened recently at Publika, Solaris Dutamas. They have over 140 franchise outlets in Japan and I felt really lucky that Malaysians can finally try their famous recipe! Without further ado, let's see what they have in store!

Mukashi Special Ramen
Price: RM 24
Mukashi Special Ramen is Yamagoya Ramen's signature dish. It's definitely a must-order dish if this is your first time here because it's considered as the 'full spec' ramen. It contains slices of yummy pork chir siu (a.k.a. char siu), ear fungus, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, seaweed and soy sauced egg. The broth made from pork bone (tonkotsu) is milky and smooth but not too oily. Yamagoya Ramen (RM 19) is similar with Mukashi Special Ramen except that it doesn't include seaweed and Soy Sauced Egg.

Miso Ramen
Price: RM 24
Having the same content with Yamagoya Ramen, Miso Ramen's broth is saltier than normal ramen broth.

Black Garlic Ramen
Price: RM 22
A fragrant bowl of ramen, black garlic oil is added into the pork bone broth. A distinctive flavour has been created.

Spicy Tobanjan Ramen
Price: RM 22
Another ramen dish that received good feedback from the crowd is Spicy Tobanjan Ramen. "Tobanjan" means spicy bean sauce and 辣豆瓣酱 in Chinese. The taste is not too spicy that a person who normally cannot bear spicy food like me can still accept.

Kimchi Ramen
Price: RM 22
If you're a fan of Kimchi, Kimchi Ramen is for you! Talking about Korean-Japanese fusion!

To be enhance the taste of ramen, they also provide you a sesame seed grinder and pickled ginger (Beni Shoga)

Fried Chicken
Price: RM 11
Fried Chicken is highly recommended by me! The chicken meat is tender and juicy and the skin is really crispy! Squeeze some lemon juice on top of the fried chicken and you will taste the perfect combination of the sourness from lemon juice and salted chicken meat.

Yamagoya Soy Sauced Egg
Price: RM 4
The eggs were prepared by boiling them in soy sauce, making the yolk and egg white looks brownish. The special thing about this egg is, the yolk isn't as dry as the hard boiled eggs we made at home. I'm sure hard boiled egg haters will love it.

Price: RM 11
Gyoza is originally a Chinese dish which is dumpling filled with pork meat. It was fried nicely but I think the amount of pork fillings could be put more because I can't get enough of it.

Mugi cha
Price: RM 2

PropWall - Largest Property Listing Website in Malaysia

Ever since my last trip to Penang, I already fell deeply in love with this state. Why? Because Piscean loves water (although I don't know how to swim) and Penang island is surrounded by water! I'd really wanna hangout at the seaside after a tired working day. Imagine I can hangout in a bar near Straits Quay and do some people watching!

But if I wanna do that, I need to find a permanent place to stay there! From the last trip, I found that there are many new developments mushrooming all around Penang! As I'm not really familiar with the available properties around and the price range of Penang property, that's where PropWall comes to the rescue!

PropWall - Penang

PropWall is the largest FREE property resource website in Malaysia! I find it very unique compared to other property listing website in Malaysia because PropWall categorizes their property listings by the property's name, making it more centralized and thus easier to get what you want.

Besides that, they also sub-categorize the properties by sale and rent so you will not get mixed matches. With a wide array of photos that can be uploaded by the users, you do not need to worry that what you see from the website will be different from reality.

If you're looking for property, I'd recommend this site to you too! They not only have Penang properties, but also Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan; just to name a few.

Win a Flower Cake from Bloom The Floral Shop for Mum!

Question of the day: Have you given your mum flowers before?
Well I don't know about you, but honestly I have never given my mum any flower in these 20+ years. What are the most common excuses we give normally when we didn't get anything for mum during Mother's Day? Busy lor.... busy with this, busy with that, blah blah blah...

The good news is, you can always order your mum some flowers via an online florist! I know, I know. Sometimes there are sites that aren't trustable and doesn't deliver after you've made payment right? Knowing your concern, I went to Bloom The Floral Shop's physical store at LG25, Ikano Power Centre for an 'investigation'. Aha! The shop is there and there are many flower selections!

They also have other branches at C13, The Intermark and LG17, Empire Shopping Gallery so you can pay a visit there if you want to hand pick your own flowers!

Food Review: Chef Lim Organic Kitchen @ The Scott Garden

Last week, I was at Chef Lim Organic Kitchen at The Scott Garden, Old Klang Road for dinner with other bloggers. Upon arriving, we were ushered into the VIP section by friendly staffs. The whole restaurant furnished in white with a simple yet modern concept, just like how I wanted for my future house.

It's a pure vegetarian restaurant as they do not serve meat and egg. I think it's also perfect for people who are health conscious because living in the city, eating unhealthy food is sometimes unavoidable.

Surrounded by cozy environment
Prefer eating healthier at home? They have a wide range of selections.

"You don't have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces, just good food from fresh ingredients."
- Julia Child-

Fruits Tea (水果茶)
Price: RM 14.90 (S), RM 17.90 (L)
This Fruits Tea has received a lot of good feedback from the crowd. Mixing green apple, red apple, mango slice, orange slice, passion fruit and honey with tea, it's no wonder the tea is so flavorful! It's not too sweet nor too sour, just perfect for my liking.

Feel Good Tea (好感觉)
Price: RM 14.90

Brewed from a teabag that consists of more than 5 herbs including American Ginseng, Chrysanthemum, Ting Fa Chou, Dong Guai and Xiong Chi, it has a slight bitter taste but very good in promoting vitality.

Crystal Jade Roll (翡翠卷)
Price: RM 14.90 (S), RM 18.90 (L)
This dish made by deep frying bean curd (tao kan) wrapped with seaweed tasted awesome with Chef Lim's home made sweet and sour sauce. A very appetizing dish indeed!

Coconut Tom Yam (椰子东炎)
Price: RM 17.90
A must try when you visit Chef Lim Organic Kitchen is this Coconut Tom Yam. Instead of using milk, they replaced it with coconut milk instead. Such a creative idea. Taste wise, it is as good as tom yam outside with meat also this one is cooked without meat.

Kapitan Fish 甲必丹鱼
Price: RM 14.90 (S), RM 18.90 (L)
When I heard of the name Kapitan Fish, I immediately searched for the fish but it was nowhere to be found. Later on, I remembered it's a vegetarian dish! They've replaced fish with bean curd (fu zuk and fu pei) instead and their home made Kapitan sauce is made with yogurt! The curry is thick and it goes very well with the brown rice although it's a tad spicy for me.

Brown Rice
Price: RM 2 per bowl

Shiitake Mushroom Stew Herbal (药材山菇)
Price: RM 14.90 (S), RM 18.90 (L)
A healthy yet tasty dish, Shiitake mushroom and black fungus is stewed and the clear sauce produced is very sweet with the goodness of mushroom essence.

Yam Ring Basket (佛钵)
Price: RM 18.90

My favorite dish of all times, Yam Ring Basket looks vibrantly decorated with sauteed mixed veggie like baby corns, snow peas, black fungus and cashew nuts inside the crispy yam basket. However, the portion is a little too small. I only get to taste a mouthful and then when I wanted to get a second serving, it's already finished! T.T

Basil Leaf Mushroom (三杯鲜菇)
Price: RM 13.90 (S), RM 17.90 (L)
Fresh Basil Leaf stir fried with Fresh Shimeji Mushroom and Fresh Whole Button Mushroom is a very healthy vegetarian dish I'm sure most Chinese had it during family gatherings.

Mixed Veggie Baked Rice (蔬菜焗飯)
Price: RM 14.90
As a frequenter of Hong Kong cafes, cheese baked rice has became a familiar food to me. But this time, it's vegetarian style! The tempting organic cheese was imported from Australia which is without animal rennet.

Lo Han Chai (罗汉斋)
Price: RM 15.90 (S), RM 19.90 (L)

Stir fried mixed mushroom, broccoli and cauliflower in a tantalizing sauce, I'm sure you won't be able to stop eating!

Fruit Pizza (水果披萨)
Price: RM 19.90
I know, combining fruits and pizza sounds weird but the combination of apple and strawberry with egg-less mayonnaise in this cheesy pizza brings a surprisingly new taste! You gotta taste it to believe it. I've never tasted anything like this before.
(Psst.... I have a secret to tell... This is actually my first time eating strawberry. OK stop laughing now >.<)

Ah finally it's dessert time!!!

Mango Pudding (芒果布丁)
Price: RM 5.90

Passion Fruit Pudding (百香果布丁)
Price: RM 5.90

Coconut Pudding (椰子布丁)
Price: RM 5.90
Coconut pudding is my favorite dessert because the taste of coconut is very strong and the pudding is as soft as soy custard (tau fu fa). I will believe if you tell me it's tau fu fa :)

Mr. Koo, General Manager of TheJas Sdn. Bhd. who also owns Overtime explained to us the concept of the restaurant

Our happy family group photo!! :D
