Prometheus

Film Synopsis:
Ridley Scott, director of Alien and Blade Runner, returns to the genre he helped define. With Prometheus, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Views and opinion:
The beginning of the story seemed slow and a little confusing, but I blame myself for not watching the trailer beforehand. However, all the answers to my questions were unfolded along the film. The film had me on the edge of my seat as I wonder how would the next team member dies. The CGI is superb and seamless, making it a visually stunning sci-fi film. There were some gory scenes though but still acceptable for me.

I wouldn’t compare this film with Alien as I did not watch any of its installment and I guess this is the main reason I enjoyed it so much. The more you associate Alien with this film, the less you will feel impressed.

With this, I included a more special trailer for my readers to enjoy; Paper Prometheus Trailer :p

  • Wow, short, sweet and simple. lol.

  • Should b interesting movie…

  • No, thanks. Not my kind of movie. I saw somebody's review – quite gory, it seems. They were disgusted by one scene – the abortion scene or something, can't remember now…but I guess watching it here, most of that would have been censored.

  • I have been catching up with some movie recently. You must watch One Day by Anne Hathaway. I think you will like =)

    • Thanks for the recommendation dear! <3

    • Is it already out? I tried to find One Day the movie cause I heard the novel is really good πŸ˜€

    • This is absolutely true -> 'The more you associate Alien with this film, the less you will feel impressed'. I think in the end Ridley still need to feed the fans with something xD haha

Something interesting in room8five: When Anything Is Possible – Yohio

    • Yes, I have One Day already :p

  • Charmaine, u joining the movie review bloggers too? Cool! Wish I've more time to attend movie events too. I usually go to the movies with my family, hubby is a movie addict. Hahaha!

  • this movie seems to be quite interesting, ok will make it to my list.. πŸ™‚

  • Oh! I like gory scenes!! Haha!! But yeah, maybe should not compare to Aliens – one of my top favourite movies of all time! : )

  • But its hard not to compare as it's the same director right? I hope he outdid himself!

    • True also… unless you didn't watch it like me :p

  • Oh so funny! Why the trailer made from paper? : D

    • Hahaha it's made by other ppl… not official trailer :p

  • Lee

I was unimpressed with the film, I found it boring and pretentious. There were far too many unanswered questions (or even questions the director had forgotten to ask – or was too scared to ask) undisclosed facts, and details left unexplored..

A far more interesting film could have been made which would have explained the events leading up to the voyage of the Prometheus…because it's certainly implied that there's a lot we don't know.

It appears to be merely a marketing ploy to launch another movie franchise.

  • I read so many gory reviews that I'm staying away from this!

  • Very kan chiong this movie! TOO overwhelming haha πŸ˜›

  • I read quite lot about the aliens and this movie will be interestIng as it featured the space jockey, known to be creator of the aliens. Anyway, don't think I be watching in the cinemas , too scary for me… Hehehe. I go for the Blu-ray.

    • Why everyone thinks it's scary? Actually it's not really scary la, just suspense.

  • awww i wanna go watch!
    but… honestly i didnt read what u wrote.. i dont want spoiler..=p
and i dowan to expect anything either.. hahahahha

  • Ooops! Can't wait to watch this too! πŸ™‚

  • Haha.. I dont think this movie would be quite my thing.. Gore n I dont sit well at all! ;p I know a lot of Ridley Scott fans though! =)
