Food Review: Garden Lifestyle Store and Cafe @ Mid Valley Megamall

The exact date I went here is 8th April 2011. I wanted to mention the date because this review is not going to be a good one. Although the food is ok, but the service is terrible to the max.

Initially, my friend ordered a Jasmine Tea. Then, the staff told us that something is wrong with the teapot. We couldn't understand what he said since he's a foreign worker. So, we just asked him to cancel the Jasmine Tea and both of us ordered other drinks. After a while, the Jasmine Tea came! We were so puzzled. Nevertheless we asked the staff to cancel the drinks we ordered later.

Then, we asked for more teacups. We repeated our request for 3-4 times but the teacup never arrived. After we requested, the staff just turned and do other stuff. Ridiculous! We swore we'd never dine there again although the place is beautiful!

The Entrance

Salmon Potato Chowder (RM 15.90)

Chicken Teriyaki (RM 18.90)
I love this the most. The chicken is tender and juicy.
But I think that the Sunway branch's is tastier.

Caesar Salad with Smoked Salmon (RM 15.90)

Salted Egg Fried Rice (RM 15.90)
Yummy! This is everyone's favourite!

Spaghetti Carbonara (RM 10.90)
Food came out quite late. And again, Sunway's branch won hahahaha

Movie Review: Green Lantern

Well, as a kid, I never read any Marvel or DC comic books. I know guys will surely laugh at me but if you're a girl, you'll understand. Therefore my review will not be based on its comic but the movie as a whole.

IMHO, the story is interesting enough, has a lot of lessons to be learnt if you can catch it. What are the lessons?
  1. Remember, your enemy is not gonna play fair.
  2. Although the Green Lantern Corps has made a yellow ring but they did not use it. Why? Because although it's more powerful than green ring, it's wrong to use a bad power.
  3. Willpower FTW!!!

I think it's satisfactory to my level. I love Blake Lively a lot, her looks and the way she speaks is perfect. According to Ah Boy though, he expected more from this movie. He claimed that Parallax died too fast and he thought the yellow ring will be used. I thought someone among the lanterns will use it and became bad guy too so that they can have Green Lantern II later hahahaha it seemed that I really thought too much. Update: Apparently, the yellow ring was used by the Captain! My prediction was correct! It was shown during the credits, that's why I missed it T.T This movie is not as good as X-Men First Class and Thor though. If you have an overly-critical tastes in entertainment, you will be disappointed.

Here are some interesting facts I found from IMDB:
Isn't Green Lantern black? (this is the exact question Ah Boy asked so this answer is dedicated to him LOL)
While there have been many Green Lanterns, John Stewart, an African-American man, is familiar to many from his role in Cartoon Network's Justice League cartoons, where he was a lead character and featured in many of the show's storylines. The character's popularity has assured him a prominent role in the comics as one of several Lanterns, including Hal Jordan, patrolling Sector 2814. The first Green Lantern is the World War II-era superhero Alan Scott, an engineer who found a magic green lantern and made a ring that allowed him to tap its powers. The other Lanterns are all members of the Green Lantern Corps. First is Hal Jordan who received his from Abin Sur, who was hurt and later died from injuries when his spaceship crashed. Guy Gardner was second as a backup should anything happen to Green Lantern of Sector 2814. Stewart replaced Guy Gardner as a backup for Jordan. Kyle Rayner became the "last" Green Lantern when Jordan became infected with the Parallax and went on a murderous rampage. The only other member of the Green Lantern Corps who became a GL for Earth is Jade, the daughter of Alan Scott who was given one of the spare Power Rings. So there are 6 Green Lanterns of Sector 2814 (Earth and surrounding space).

Movie Review: Priest

Thanks to Nuffnang, Ah Boy and I gets to watch the Special Screening. Like Resident Evil, we need to surrender our gadgets before admission. I personally liked the twist in the movie and also the Priest's cool solar powered and nitro enabled motorcycle! LOL!

Basically, the story is about a Priest who went against the order of the church to save his niece whose family has been attacked by vampires. His niece has been kidnapped by the vampire but her family has been killed. Priest is going to save her niece before she is being turned to a vampire. Love the Priest's great fighting skill. Like playing Fruit Ninja hahahaha! At the end, only the bad guy's hat was left. Subjective ending. Is he dead? Or he was thrown to a far place? ;p

Some people commented that the 3D version is not worth watching because it was non existent.

Be prepared!

It's a Shame That You Are a Blogger Who Defame Other Blogger

There is this quite famous (at least more famous than me) blogger who wrote about me. I have read his blog before and we have exchanged a few comments last time but I didn't know it was him that day. When I found out about his post, I was disappointed that he is this kind of blogger. A friend already told me that this blogger talked about me the night before I found his post and I cried myself to sleep that night. I just couldn't understand why this happens to me alone. Is blogging world really so 'dark'? Sorry for being naive then. If his facts are correct, I still can shut up and just watch but his facts are totally wrong and dishonest so I cannot just shut up.

"QUESTION: Do you think it is logic to 'SELL' your movie premiere screening ticket to somebody else considering that you are not intended of attending it? Do you know it is free stuffs that deemed unsuitable for such misdemeanor or because just want to earn that extra cash from such act? Can anyone imagined the person who bought the ticket from someone happened to realize that he/she is the only person who have to pay for the screening?"

My answer: I have never expressed that I did not intend to attend it. It's just that a friend won a pair of tix too and I'm watching with him. Is it illogical to sell something I have extra? Let's say I have 2 pens and I only need 1. Can I not sell the extra pen just because it's cheap? Furthermore, I did not hide the fact that I got for free. So obviously I did not plan to cheat the person who wants to buy the ticket. It's their choice whether they want to buy it or not. If nobody wanna buy, then I will give it out.

"So, almost everyone got their premiere screening movie via contest or giveout on social media or newspaper, right? The whole reason about the existence of premiere screening is to allow the movie distributors to screen a movie to a handful of public audience beforehand; to allow words-of-mouth of a movie been spread after they have watched it. I can rest assured you no one have to pay a single cent for such screening because it is a marketing strategy by distributors to check on the level of anticipation and market potential based on the attendees' reactions. For those who does not know why we have tonnes of movie screening every week, this is indeed the reason."

My answer: Since I AM GOING to the screening, does selling my extra tix makes the existence of premiere screening invalid? I am going to watch it and talk about it too. If the movie is good, the person who buys the ticket is going to spread words-of-mouth or blog about it too no? If the person who buys it will not spread about how good the movie is, then cinemas might as well just give all tickets for free. No need do business. And also, that would mean they are 'Blogging for Money".

"So I asked her nicely why you wanna sell it cause it is supposedly free?
She replied me by tweeting "'premiere' means 'a first public performance' according to dictionary.com, 'premiere' doesn't mean free LOL"

I asked her again, how she got the tickets - free or she bought it.
She answered "of course free la"

Next thing is she angrily tweeted "check the facts about premier screening before I asked her this" - of course she didn't mentioned me, but I know it means me anyway.
One of my friend jumped into the wagon by tweeting "We know your purpose, got it free and make $$,so good luck to u". He knew that premiere screening is not for sale, nor does it deemed exchangeable for cash!

He then continued by tweeting "If premiere have red carpet or premiere for charity is different story, she should know the premiere culture in Malaysia""

My answer: Here comes another incorrect fact. My actual tweet is "Get your facts right before arguing with me or you'll need to bury your face in the sand later!" instead of "check the facts about premier screening before I asked her this". WTF!!! This is totally out man! The tweet was actually referring to my colleague who asked me something stupid then only I wrote this tweet but he jumped into conclusion that I was saying him. Oh well... Maybe this is what ppl say as 'Siapa makan cili, dia terasa pedas'.

And as you can see, I openly admitted I got the ticket for free. No cheating.

I know premiere culture in Malaysia is just like a normal movie screening then only I sell it. If you normally watch at RM 12 per ticket and now you get it at RM 10 each, will you say no? If it is not for sale, it should be written in the T&C. If I have missed the T&C, I will say sorry and retract it (this is only my first time btw and so luckily I got targeted but don't know why that blogger describe as if I've made a fortune out of it) but since I didn't saw any, how can my right to sell my extra stuff be denied? This is basic human rights!

"The biggest plunder of all that I thought worth mentioning is - this person who is trying to sell of her premiere tickets is actually a blogger serving for Nuffnang. I saw her on Innit Chat box quite frequent last time, doing the quite normal routine by spamming all the way to the core! The thing is I do not think it is necessary to say who is she, nor this post is intended for her act. Yes, you have been reading my squibbing about this issue but what is the morale of the story in the end of the day?"

My answer: Like he said, he saw me on Innit Chat quite frequent LAST TIME. Last time weh... and "doing the quite normal routine by spamming all the way to the core"? not so frequent lor! OMG why this guy talks like a paparazzi wan... what also 'memperbesarkan'! Now in Innit also many ppl spamming la... even some popular bloggers (dun wanna say name la har)

"THE MORALE OF THE STORY - "A blogger is also a human. That goes to mean that a blogger, like a human, has integrity. Does the race to achieve something in the blogosphere makes one simply to take advantage from a certain circumstances just for your sole benefits? So to say, are bloggers doing it simply just for fame, glory and wealth, even it involves some other forms of dirty tricks?" You are now asking for RM10 a piece from something that i thought would be more wonderful to give to someone who deserved to watch the movie more if you do not like it. You are now asking for RM10 a piece from something that i thought is free and deemed "not exchangeable for cash" items. To be honest, if I have a chance, I am willing to give away my screening ticket even if it is a bunch of school kids or probably even some orphans if in case I decided not to attend the screening."

My answer: Correct. A blogger is also a human. Human needs money to survive. I do not have as much fame, glory and wealth as he does. And what? Dirty tricks? I did not commit any crime to get the tix not commit any crime to force ppl buy my tix. I posted to @FongFeiKei because everyone is happily selling their stuff there. I never thought my encounter would be so exceptional. Integrity? Does a person who doesn't respect human rights and doesn't report the truth have the rights to say about integrity? But I suppose saying is easier than done huh? He sounded like an angel when he said "I am willing to give away my screening ticket even if it is a bunch of school kids or probably even some orphans if in case I decided not to attend the screening." but if you think properly, I only have 2 tix.

Question to ponder:
1) Where am I going to find some random orphans to give the tix to? It's unfair to give it to some and not give others. Later got blogger write post to condemn me again.
2) 2 school kids go watch movie that is going to end at 11.30pm is too dangerous. Ever thought of that?
3) I think it would be better if he suggested that I donate the RM 20 that I have collected from selling it to the orphans which I'll be very happy to do so. Anyway, I GAVEit to a friend's sister so I did not violate anything at the end just in case if you're still thinking it violates 'something'.

All I can say is, maybe he doesn't blog for money but he's blogging for attention. That's why he picked me as a target. I'm just a small peanut but it doesn't mean he can defame me like that. Every blogger should be responsible of what they say and only write the truth. THIS is integrity. From the start to end, I never cheated and never intended to cheat. Why did he made it as if it's a BIG deal?

MORALE OF THE STORY: Don't just listen to one side of the story and believe bulat-bulat. Do not simply report because it will greatly impact ppl's life, take Teresa Teng as an example. Think of how ppl will feel before you come up with a post to condemn them. We are all human. It should be equal and fair. I clearly know that I will make a lot of new enemies perhaps (although I do not wish to) after writing this post especially his loyal followers and friends but I really cannot stand being accused.

UPDATE (7/6/2011):
I realized that the T&C on 'not for sale' is on the movie ticket. Like I've promised, I'm going to say sorry. Sorry Nuffnang! I never intend to violate anything but since it's not stated in the contest post, nobody will know it's not for sale until ticket collection time. I've suggested to Nuffnang to put more detailed T&C to avoid more victims of flaming.
